Quadro Nuevo

Quadro Nuevo:
Mulo Francel (saxophones, clarinets)
Robert Wolf (Guitar, bouzouki)
Andreas Hinterseher (accordion, vibrandoneon, xylophone)
D. D. Lowka (double bass, percussion)

Tango, valse musette, arabesque, flamenco, lovingly dusted off film music and an Italy almost lost in time - since 1996 Quadro Nuevo has appeared in over 1500 concerts all over Europe.
The four musicians’ venues are as diverse as the roots of their music: The nostalgic-acoustic ensemble not only appear in concert halls and at festivals. The fervent virtuosi also travel around the Southern Mediterranean as street musicians enticing their audience to dance as a nightly tango band.

Each of Quadro Nuevo’s CDs so far has received the German Jazz Award and climbed into the Top Ten of the Jazz and World Music Charts and the Top 50 album charts. In the summer of 2005, the quartet released its DVD - Quadro Nuevo LIVE - and received the European Phono Award Impala in Paris.

The latest Quadro Nuevo CD was released in October 2006

The instrumental quartet has long since established its own form of poetical sound, beyond the genre pigeon holes.
Starting off with European tango with a euphoric note, Quadro Nuevo enriches this musical tradition with elements from flamenco, Balkan swing, daring improvisations and an incomparable Mediterranean sense of ease.
